MoreThanA Gym
A community interest company using Muay Thai to support mental health, wellbeing and positive change — for veterans, care-experienced young people, and anyone facing life's challenges.

Balance in mind,
body & spirit.
Muay Thai is a martial art that emphasises balance in the mind, body and spirit — a form of active meditation. Known as the Art of Eight Limbs, it uses fists, elbows, knees and shins. Beyond the physical, training builds mental toughness, focus and a clearer, calmer mind.
Built For Everyone

Take it out
on the pads.
Whilst you concentrate on hitting the pads, everything else falls away. You finish puffed out — but with a clearer mind, better able to gather your thoughts and face them one at a time. That's the difference training makes.

Real Stories
"Whilst concentrating on hitting the pads my problems disappeared. When I finished, my mind was clearer and I could focus better to deal with the thoughts running through my head. My mental health is much more controlled now, and I have far more control over my mind. Bobby and Eileen are good coaches — they'll either help you with your mental health, or make a champion out of you. It's your choice."
— Tommy Addison, Erskine Veteran
"Bobby and his gym have provided a safe, non-judgemental and nurturing space which draws vulnerable people in to engage in structured martial arts. They have found a purpose and focus through Muay Thai which has built their belief in themselves and allowed them to thrive."
— Donna Gillespie, Registered Mental Health Nurse
"Bobby offered 1-1 sessions at no cost to build the young person's confidence. The gym have gone above and beyond. We saw an increase in motivation and a reduction in substance use — the first time this young person has sustained engagement with any activity."
— Catherine Carey, Social Worker, Renfrewshire Council
